Notes

Shimunek (2017) has *mʊqʊli "bald," but this is impossible. Mu-gu-lu (木骨閭) LH *mok-kuət-liɑ is a hybrid word of Mongolic origin. The root is Mongolic *mok[u]r- "to become blunt," which is suffixed by the Xuŋa nominal suffix *-ɑːq. Thus, the word that is transcribed is *moqurɑːq "bald." Remember also that the character Lu (閭) belongs to the Lu (呂) and Ge (各) type transcriptional suffixes that regularly transcribe the syllable *-rɑːq.
