The border woven separately and applied, damage at one end, slight staining, original white felt backing.

Acquired in Kathmandu, 1995


A carbon 14 test conducted by ETH, Zurich, sample ETH-42000/1, gives the following result:

68.2 probability

360 B.C.E. (52.7 290 B.C.E.)

230 B.C.E. (15.5 200 B.C.E.)

95.4 probability

360 B.C.E. (60.3 270 B.C.E.)

260 B.C.E. (35.1 180 B.C.E.)

Both the central field and the border were sampled, and gave very close results.
