Höbün (Yuwen)
The Höbün (Chinese: 宇文, IPA: *wɑ-mun) were a Mongolized clan of Xuŋa origin during Late Antiquity.
Etymology
*Höbün is likely from Mongolic *köbeün "son;" hence, the definition of Yuwen (宇文) as Tianzi (天子) or "Son of Heaven" in the Yuanhe Xingzuan (元和姓纂).
Origins
The Höbün were originally a clan of the Xuŋa, speaking a Turkic language.
